Major platform update

New subscription system, improved variables and smarter notifications

We have recently updated GSMCLOUD platforms with a number of important improvements and new features that make it easier to manage subscriptions, work with variables and set up communication and dashboards.

Here's a comprehensive overview of what's new.

New subscription system & billing

We have launched a brand new subscription system with a focus on Flexibility, transparency and better EU support.

  • Automatic refuelling
  • Improved EAN, VAT view and invoice handling directly in the platform
  • Invoice payment is now handled directly in GSMCLOUD (previously via resellers) for:
    • Business customers across the EU
    • Private customers in Denmark
  • The invoice fee is reduced to DKK 25,- + VAT per payment
  • New onboarding when creating projects so you don't forget your subscription
  • Opened for EU-wide sales as part of the new invoicing system

Variables - more flexibility and control

Working with variables has been significantly improved.

  • Variables can now be selected immediately upon creation
  • Existing variables can be edited
  • Data on a variable can be cleared/reset
  • When creating, you can choose whether the variable should be:
    • Historical variable
    • Live view variable when historical is switched off


This makes it easier to structure data correctly from the start and adjust along the way.

Devices - smarter incident management

The Incident system has been expanded.

  • You will now also receive notifications, When a device comes back online


Previously, notifications were only sent when the device was offline, now it provides a more complete overview of the real state of the device.

Communication & notifications

The communication and notification nodes have received several important improvements:

  • Simple validation on communication nodes
  • Variables can now be used as receivers
  • (e.g. send in a phone number via dashboard and use it as the recipient)
  • SMS sender is set by default to GSMCLOUD
  • Alternatively, you can choose:
  • Our main number
  • Own branding on 1-11 characters (ASCII)
  • (without Æ/Ø/Å)
  • By “Receive SMS”, the phone number to be answered is displayed directly on the node
  • Line breaks in messages are now handled correctly

Dashboard - desktop and responsive editing

Dashboard editing now supports both:

  • Desktop view
  • Responsive display

You can freely choose the view type while editing the dashboard, making design and set-up much more flexible.

Usage protection (SMS & calls)

To provide better control over consumption, we have introduced consumption hedging:

  • Customers can set their own limit of up to 100 per day
  • If you want to raise the limit above 100 per day, please contact GSMCLOUD support
  • If you want a lower limit, this can be adjusted via Settings in the platform control panel
